Mercer County Medical Society
Jeffrey Lipkowitz, MD is the 127th president of the Mercer County Medical Society. He graduated from Vassar College in 1974 with a A.B. Dr. Lipkowitz received his doctor of medicine degree in 1978 from Temple University School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia, PA and his Ophthalmology Residency at Pittsburgh Eye & Ear Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA where he held the honor of Chief Resident in Ophthalmology. He subsequently completed his Vitreo-Retinal Fellowship at The Doheny Eye Institute University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA.
Dr. Lipkowitz is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. During his post-graduate employment with the W. K. Kellogg eye Center of the University of Michigan Dr. Lipkowitz was Assistant Professor of the Department of Ophthalmology and Co-Director of Ocular Trauma Service. Dr. Lipkowitz holds memberships in The Vitreous Society, American Medical Association, Medical Society of New Jersey, New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology and the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology. He has been a member of the Mercer County Medical Society Board of Trustees since 1998 and served in all officer positions.
Dr. Lipkowitz is a staff physician at Capital Health System, Trenton, NJ, Capital Health System Surgical Center, Hamilton, NJ, Lower Bucks Medical Center, Bristol, PA, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Langhorne, PA, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Hamilton, and The University Medical Center at Princeton.
The rights of patients and ensuring freedom for physicians to practice medicine take precedence in Jeff’s life. His method of forging through the quagmire of managed care and federal healthcare restrictions is spirited and beneficial for patients and his colleagues. Jeff shares these outstanding qualities with his partners, Darma Ie, MD and Kekul Shah, MD. In 1993 Jeff and Darma founded Delaware Valley Retina Associates that is located at 4 Princess Road, Suite 101, Lawrenceville, NJ.
The Mercer County Medical Society is indeed proud and extremely honored to have Jeffrey Lipkowitz, MD as their president. We wish him every success in the coming year.
